What It Is: Beats & Rhymes. A Return to Story-Telling. Grimey. Unapologetic. Natural.
What It's Not: Auto-Tune. Sonically Repetitive. Over-Produced. Polished. Formulaic. Contrived.
Don Verb took his time in putting this project together - provoking curiosity from fans and colleagues. 'What's it going to sound like' was essentially the inquiry he was experiencing the most. His (eventual) response became, "sounds like 1996".
D.V first began recording his own rhymes over beats in 1996. Looking back on that time, the artist believes it to be a very pivotal year in hip hop history. (as he and his fiance have covered on their podcast, "Minivan Musician)
Very proud of this album, he feels as though he has lived up to the standard of all of those great albums that he grew up listening to, that were released in that year.
